Unpopular opinion; bringing Firefly back would only highlight that it was very much a product of its time, and some aspects of its tone and writing have not aged well at all.

This was one of the things (of the approximate million total things) I appreciated about the Wonder Woman movie. The scene where Steve Trevor plays a raven on Doctor Poison, exactly reversing the way that trope would play out in 99% of other movies.

That’s like a real life Hawkeye Initiative redraw!

Sweet fancy Moses. Can we please go back to the good old days before nerds took over everything? You know, when we were allowed to be excited for movies before they came out and enjoy them when they did?

I never thought I would long for the middleearth.net messageboard, yet here we are.

Both phenomenal reads. Thank you for sharing these!

Agreed 100%.

Though now I find myself wondering how, if at all, the show will handle the Doctor’s adoption of performative femininity. There’s certainly more work involved in maintaining her current appearance than she has been wont to do in other incarnations.

I suppose I should clarify that I really LIKE her haircut, I think it’s super cute. It just doesn’t necessarily feel like The Doctor’s haircut to me, at least not yet. But there’s time.

Well, she’s spending a fair bit of time in the TARDIS salon getting those chunky highlights...

Nine was going through some stuff.

As for Ten, Wilf said it best.

Fair enough. It was pretty fantastic. So current odds are 1-3.

I’m not sure why you expect this to be good. It’s a prequel. A Star Wars prequel.

Han isn’t actually a great character. Han is a great PERFORMANCE, one for the books, introducing in Harrison Ford one of the top five most charismatic leading men in movie history, easily. Take that character away from that actor and

My only quibble, and it is a quibble, is the hair. The Doctor has always been a peacock about her hair; she usually likes a lot of volume and texture. This wash ‘n wear bob feels off-brand to me.

If I could Force project I’d take off a couple years and a couple pounds too.

Can she and Maui be best friends?

We just finished this show! I loved it. I am hardly one to fawn over trash men on television, but I gotta say I reacted entirely differently to Joel than the writer (and the commentariat) did. I thought they certainly could have made a heel out of him, but I liked the decision made by the actor (who is wildly charming

That’s a slightly-too-svelte Luke. Looks more like his Crait version than his Ahch-To version. I like that his Force projection took off 15 pounds and gave him a bit more pepper in the salt. V relatable. I would do the same thing if I could Force project.

I saw this when it was being workshopped at Emerson’s Cutler Majestic last year. It was hauntingly beautiful in even its raw form. I won’t be able to make the New York premiere, but it’ll be coming to Connecticut later this winter and I am going to do my best to get there.

Can we now talk about how everyone is acting like Rian Johnson invented ForceTime? I feel like a crazy person but this definitely happened, almost to a T, in Return of the Jedi between Luke and Vader.

I like it! Kind of makes Luke into Zaheer.
