I wish he would have stuck to testing theories like “Can I put a dozen bottle rockets in my ass and light them?”

i like semi agree that it’s nagl except i love it and think it’s the best look and get it girl

Duh.

Authoress is pretty gross. Most things you can append “-ess” to are just ugh.

Now I’m envisioning an undercover activist wearing a tear-off outfit taking the job and then halfway through the event, when the line is longest, tearing off her clothes and screaming LOOK AT MY PIERCED CLITORIS YOU GUN-TOTING MONSTERS and then Zoidberging out of there.

Well, first, jobs are not pronouns. Someone performing a job can be referred to by that job, but that doesn’t make it a pronoun.

We don’t need your “AS A WHITE PERSON, I LOVE THIS” bullshit. You love it because you are a person, because you connected with the work on a emotional level, because you found you relevant to your personal experience, not because of your fetishization of black female beauty.

I absolutely do not think black women need my approval, but I obviously didn’t make that clear. I apologize for that.

That’s really helpful, thank you! I think that you are right, and I’m obviously still learning.

I see what you’re saying, I do.

Your chief mistake was thinking black women need or even want your approval. I understand that you were trying to express how much you connected with the work but your diction reveals only a fetishistic appreciation.

I’m talking about all the people who say, “I know I’m a white lady so this isn’t for me, but I’m gonna say a million self-indulgent things about it anyway so I can feel good about myself”. Nobody cares about that shit. I do care about people who have interesting things to say about the art.

Hey steelmagnolia — actually the appropriate thing for white women to do right now is to not say anything about Lemonade. To just sit down and shut up and be grateful we get to listen. I know that’s hard to hear but it’s what we have to do if we don’t want to continue contributing to the subjugation of Black women, as

If that is how you feel... support these artists with your money. buy those books of poetry. see their movies. go see their shows.

I’m still pissed off that this shooting, which the shooter admitted was an attack on women, did not get a ton of attention. People focused on the fact that it was in a movie theater more than the fact that the shooter was an admitted misogynist. I mean the host of a radio show even said that the shooter frequently

Oh. And from the headline, I thought she meant she regretted making the movie for the movie’s sake. Which was pretty universally panned by the Jez commentariat, which I finally saw this weekend and actually found it pleasantly enjoyable, probably because of y’all’s comments.

It wasn’t for you. She wasn’t talking to you. It wasn’t about you. Also, no one cares.

Well, troll, people don’t usually need to protest those types of crimes because the police call them murder, investigate them as a murder, arrest the culprits if they can find them, have a trial, and put the murderers in jail. All without blaming the child for causing his own murder.

Oh, sure, I always hear protesters shouting “Black Lives Matter MORE!” Yup, that’s exactly how the chant goes.
