amazing how a stranger’s odd hatred for the true hit king can make a person really want to honor the true hit king properly.

I spent a large portion of that first 39 minutes saying to myself, “holy shit they’re gonna do this.”
He may be an “amateur”, but he’s not just some unathletic guy off the street. He played Division I college hockey. That, in itself, is a feat, just because of the numbers game. It take some serious, actual talent to play college hockey - there really are not too many programs, so most guys don’t get to that level.…
I was a goaltender for 20+ years so I’ll try to explain the best I can. Though it might be long.
worth linking it
Funny, my emergency accountant couldn’t stop any of the seven shots my ex-wife took at my tax return.
His postgame interview was hysterical. Half nonchalant, half “Holy fuck what just happened”.
He plays in the top league at the Blackhawks’ practice facility. That’s about it. He wasn’t even dressed for the game, and was the #3 emergency goaltender for both teams, not just the Hawks. He has a Winnipeg sweater with his name on it somewhere from tonight, too.
They found him in a tax shelter?
Fun fact, the secret ingredient to hawaiian mac salad is tossing the noodles with apple cider vinegar before adding anything else. It changes the whole dish.
I honestly didn’t know this was something people didn’t know, it seems obvious.

The questions in your 2d paragraph ARE important - essential, really - but so is adding one more Black player on the court when doing so would cause governors to use the legal system to block a team from playing. The University of San Francisco football team in the 50s was amazing but turned down the southern bowl…
I kinda get what you’re saying but there’s more to it than the number of black guys on the floor and the anger and insults. There was actually a Mississippi state injunction to stop the game. I think that’s the more important metric of civil rights progress.
‘63 Loyola starter John Egan and Michigan starter Charles Matthews are both alums of St. Rita High School on Chicago’s South Side. Definitely a cool combo for Ritamen.
Is it just me or does no one really talk about Bill Russell’s career until he joined the Celtics? I feel like we don’t hear enough about USF’s title.
Loyola has just become the most successful team in NCAA tournament history. Their all-time winning percentage is now .765; Duke is at .752.
