A local comedy radio station occasionally plays Dunham’s bits. As painfully unfunny as he is on television, he’s even worse on the radio. Without the puppets, it’s just him telling shitty jokes to himself in his own voice, and it sounds like open mike night in a psych ward.

Thought the same of The Walk and Battle of the Sexes. Both involved Zemeckis and Carrel weirdly enough.

well, the problem here seems to be that this is dreck playing dress-up as something more adventurous.

The documentary was so interesting, I really don’t know why there was a need for this film.

This would be true if the only thing he’d ever written was “Rainbow Connection”. But taking in the whole of his oeuvre, I’m going to nominate him for sainthood.

I rewatched TinTin recently and it was still a good time.

I think one thing this movie deserves kudos for is how it goes out of its way to show that Steve Rogers isn’t basically this asshole:

Obligatory:

Such a relentlessly positive creative force.

Paul Williams is a goddamned national treasure

Jesus God, he’s 87. If you don’t want to give him a pass for being tone-deaf to the cultural shifts regarding women and sexual aggression, fine. But what purpose does it serve to point out that an old man is glaringly out of touch with the times? Is your next article going to be chastising Betamax for not being

Right?

It is the Year of Our Lord 2018: I know you have a phone. Call 911!!

  1. D’Arcy Carden is amazing.

Maybe my favorite episode of TV this decade. His faith in D’Arcy Carden was well placed. This also shows how intricately the show has been plotted, and the way they did this episode gives me faith in the show runners that they know exactly what they are doing and have a plan.

How are there no nominations for Widows?  Not one

You watch your mouth about Maverick!

Counterpoint: Widows made a lot of sense, and the emotional stakes in the heist and the aftermath were quite sensational.

“Sounds dreadful. Love, Margaret.” I thought this sketch was funny in its evolving complexity, and Foy was indeed enjoyable. Mikey Day was quite good too. Mikey almost giggled at one point, but yeah the delivery was perfect. The unnecessary thing was “She joined the German Army!” at the end which, duh, we had

I’m not sure what you were looking for from Foy in that WW1 sketch but I thought her delivery was perfect. This sounded to me like you wanted her to mug to the camera more or be zany, but her performance was perfect for a character who replies to long, heartfelt letters with one or two words in reply.
