Definitely true, but lots of the larger magazines keep their old contracts, at least archivally, at which point you can at least line up the contract with the year the story was published to see what the guaranteed rights were at the time. Agreed! I'm actually happy they're pulling some great short stories that may have been overlooked by history. There's TONS of that content out there in mountains of old journals…USE THEM!
