No it’s real. Too fucking real. Fucking New York. This place sucks a bag of dicks and is also amazing. Very strange dichotomy. But the complaining is real as fuck.

I know addicts. They all have many chances to live. Too many chances. Then they spit in the face of the community who gives them endless chances. Not cool.

At some point, you do have to decide to start taking heroin. There is nobody out there who sees heroin and actually believes “I’m just gonna take it this once, but I won’t get addicted”. Once you’ve decided to take heroin, you’re out of fucks to give. Give these people some damn agency over their own decisions.

Yeah....as the kid of a heroin addict, my sympathy with the pictured couple is extremely limited. I do think that the system needs to change and the treatment should always be favored over imprisonment and shaming. And while this isn’t the best course of action, sometimes a picture like this can show other addicts…
