He has literally said - and it’s been printed and spread - that he did not know she had hair loss of any kind. Just like most of the general public.

I’m sorry, I tried to get into this show, but it was awful. I’m surprised the writer says “hilarious” - really? Saying “fucking fuckers” is funny on its own? The first few episodes were cringe acting. High school play level, or worse. “Hey! Don’t follow us to the stadium!” Omg. And then it’s all so predictable.
I watched it and it’s not good. In fact it’s awful. I’m not surprised about the ratings (and I’m liberal).. it’s like every episode is a mini high school play.
Unfortunately, the series is not good.
Excellent point. His jokey “What, you think you’re better than me?” could be a lot scarier in the real world.
Mira is not a good person and Jonathan just follows her like a puppy dog because she broke him of his religious bounds shortly after puberty. At least we got a little glimpse in this episode as to why she’s so shitty - her mom was a shitty mom who dragged her around as she got with a variety of men.
She was definitely physically uncomfortable during that scene, yep. And it was so weird, couldn’t figure out why of course until episode 2. I was also disappointed she decided to have the abortion in this episode, although never seen the original. Seems like it’s her fault with how much she’s hiding..?
Just watching - calling it now, she will commit suicide by the end. There’s so much she’s not saying and he’s not acknowledging.
Just catching up after watching all 4 episodes. I am loving this show - finally, something different on TV. I love that it’s a play on yet another Kevin James comedy, Kevin Can Wait. I love Annie Murphy in every adorable and heartbreaking scene (and especially the way her accent gets clearer as the episodes progress,…
Must be opposite land.. Soul was magnificent (we all felt that way, from my 4 year old to the adults) and Onward was just a one time viewing movie.
Who cares about the Cars sequels? You obviously don’t know any children. They are obsessed with Cars. It’s HUGE. I have preschoolers so I know, but it’s Cars birthday parties left and right. And the 3rd one was great.
The show is just so problematic. It has all the right ingredients to make a showstopper meal, but it gets it wrong at every turn. Fantastic actors, directors, original premise - but look where we are. Everyone I know has been so disappointed by season 4. It’s like they forgot about all the characters except for June.…
I agree with everything you said. Not to mention all the characters aren’t even acting together for the most part. I could not care less about Aunt Lydia’s storyline - kill her off. Boring. Get Janine and June to fight Gilead from within, man. Do SOMETHING. A lot of talk and no action after their heroics in S3 finale.
No one has talked about this - yes!
Gross. What a sexist thing to say. A man in a relationship might not be so quick to call it rape, but they would definitely feel violated. The hand over the mouth after saying “wait”? Not right.
Same. I’ll take an episode with lots of action vs the first 4 episodes of Handmaid’s Tale. What a disappointment.. about 2 things happen all hour.
I felt the same. That baby looked about 6 months old, not 10 months.
Totally disagree about Ralph/BenMendelssohn. I loved him in Bloodline and he was the only reason I watched after a certain point (bad storylines)- when they killed him off I was done.
Who tf is Andy?? I don’t understand why you spent 1,000 words on basically saying the brother plot device was idiotic - and it wasn’t. It didn’t even occur to me as a viewer that he shouldn’t be talking to Claude. I’m sure the semi-believing cops weren’t going to realize that either, or that the brother had any…
Doesn’t AVClub appreciate the clicks no matter when they come? I always watch things late, it seems (like now, just watching The Outsider) and still like reading episode recaps and comments here to catch things I missed. I would have done the same with Fleabag and I didn’t start watching that until it was nominated…
