The other day I misheard my co-worker saying “I wish he gets stabbed” as “I wish he gets staph,” and now my mind is stuck on it. Fuck Giuliani. I hope he gets a bad staph infection.

No. They deserve it. Not my friends, family and I. We put in the work and the pain. Those dingleberries need to get sick full-on and if they survive, have 100% long haul symptoms.
This is partially true. I'm vaccinated and I have an adverse impact on the unvaccinated: if they don't want to get vaccinated I tell them to fuck off.
Her privilege is why she should keep her mouth shut and I am glad she was vague.
The abolition movement has nothing to do with rich white men who commit corporate crimes. Her answer was spot on. She truly does not have a right to pontificate about criminal justice reform per her family’s experience, i.e, one of extreme whiter privilege. If she opened her mouth, she would have gotten dragged.
It is…
Yeah this is kind of my takeaway too - even the excerpt used in this article is super weird. It seems like the author was trying to bait her into giving quotes about political issues she didn’t really want to comment on and wouldn’t take no for an answer. I get that it’s your job as a journalist to get juicy quotes…
I have the rice curse as well. I’m generally quite a good cook but I somehow ALWAYS burn the bottom of my rice. Even following directions to a T. My husband makes fun of me for using the rice cooker and says I should just practice making it on the stovetop more, but whatever.
Girl, that was BEST CHOICE.
You can make anything you’d otherwise make in a crock pot in it, just in a shorter time period. Chili, stews, shredded chicken, etc.
We use ours mostly for hard boiled eggs, soups, and bean and rice dishes. There are some quick pastas you can do, too. I find lots of my recipes on Pinterest.
Haven’t fixed anything lately, but I did try something new a week and half ago after getting my second COVID shot. I tried some Venezuelan arepas and empanadas. Had a reina peiado arepa which is chicken salad and avocado. Was very good. I bought a bunch of stuff to try. The other arepa I got was black beans and…
Yeah for the most part it is really great on tough or chewy meats. My most used purposes are probably rice and chicken stock. If you get a second insert you can make chicken stock with leftover chicken bits and vegetable trimmings and then strain it into the second insert and pop that one in to make any kind of soup.
I use ours for steel cut oats, and a dozen hard boiled eggs at a time. Mr E makes bone broth in it.
I love that you obsess about floors because (aside from little stains on the wall); the floors are what bother me the most. I have a box, now, for clean clothes, oddly enough. And if I come home from work, and am just absolutely drained and cannot hang my clothes -- at least I can throw them in a box, and the next…
I’m not great at it but a couple things:
I know! It's like that Halloween episode of The Simpsons where Lisa creates a universe. The bacteria! They're colonizing the joint!
I sweep the floors at the end of the day, kind of the signal that the kitchen is closed, and I do a deep floor clean on Sundays, sweep, swifter, clean, vacuum, but the floors are the only thing I really obsess about keeping clean, other things around the house I only notice when the piles get out of control, or when…
I just do a little each day so that I only have to deep clean a couple of times a year. One day is sweep and vac, one day dust, one day wet mop. That way I never spend more than 10 minutes or so cleaning. My clothes always go in the hamper at the end of the day, and immediately put away when I do laundry (bc I hate…
You can make yogurt, and if you don’t already have a rice cooker, you can use it for that.
I’m reviving Pissing Contest with a new topic every week.
