I’m deeply confused as to how you think the field is supposed to be narrowed down from 10 people to 1 if no one can say anything about any candidate.

I have long been waiting for the slow lore rollout that only queer people get superpowers in the Overwatch world. No reason, that’s just the way it is.
I had the good fortune to MOSTLY only catch the standouts of the movement. By which I mean, I saw THE CELEBRATION, largely really liked it, and then saw THE IDIOTS and was like, oh, wait, maybe this isn’t for me after all.
I also reviewed films for a number of years, which is why I tend to reward films that have gut and spark - and can pull off what they’re going for, even if they do so imperfectly. The thing is, ‘did they pull off what they were trying to do?” is a question with a subjective answer.
Okay, I was iffy when you started coming for Punisher: War Zone, but throwing Speed Racer in the bad movie pile too?
It really isn’t, though. It was an interesting, ambitious film. Did it completely work? No, absolutely not. Portions in the middle definitely drag, for example. But a ‘bad’ movie? It’s got style, ambition, interesting storytelling choices, great casting, and a genuine sense of exploitation schlock.
It really, really isn’t a bad movie, though.
One of the best superhero movies around. Lexi is great - active, intelligent, and a fierce advocate for what she believes in - and it’s frankly a shame that the studio did WAR ZONE so wrong.
I think this may be where the fact that you haven’t played Fallout 76 much, as you said above, comes into play, because that’s not actually the premise of the game. NO players are playing wasteland dwelling lunatics; literally every player is playing as one of Earth’s best and brightest, who spent decades with one…
Ah, I see what you mean. You’re asking why it is okay to kill an unsuspecting player, but not okay to hurl slurs at that player while killing them? Is that correct?
Sorry, I’m a little confused. So, you consider killing an NPC (which has no feeling or agency and exists only to be killed), killing a PC in a fair competition, and following someone you don’t know for a few minutes screaming at them before killing them against their will... to be the same thing?
No problem, happy to chat with you! I’ve done a lot of roleplaying, and I know how thorny it can be to try to separate a person from their character. That’s why, when we talk about homophobia or racism or misogyny or whatever, it’s important to look at outcomes and actions, rather than trying to guess what was in…
So far as I can see, he never said he was role-playing; Kotaku did. His comments are:
I apologize, let me clarify something, because I disagree with your first statement: When I say, “in the second, I tried to use the work as a shield for my bigotry,” I am not making an assumption about anyone’s state of mind. I can never know what is in anyone’s heart or mind. To me, trying to talk about what is in…
What you’re missing is context. Role-playing like this translates quite well into the game format... but that, like everything, requires context.
I guess I’m confused about what you’re worried about.
I’m confused, how is this dangerous to our society? Should private organizations not be allowed to choose their spokespeople? That seems like a WILD overstep of governmental power, to come in and say, “Nope, sorry, I know it will hurt your business and anger both your employees and your supporters, but you MUST employ…
(I really assumed the picture would load with that comment. Laugh at me, assuming I know how Kinja works)
I can’t stop seeing Val Kilmer’s MACGRUBER character, Dieter Von Cunth, when I look at her.
The reason they can’t get their top shelf characters to work is because they have bad scripts.
