I disagree. The overreliance on death as the sole arbiter of ‘consequence’ or ‘seriousness’ has led to drama that all feels too samey and juvenile. I actually preferred what happened to Rhodey, as it means he sticks around as a constant reminder of the consequence, as someone with agency rather than a vacuum people…

I think the movie acknowledged that it was fucked up by making the whole movie about how Rogen’s character was a despicable asshole who would do monstrous things to achieve his own ends.
