I didn't like the first arc of her Red Sonja, but her second arc has been a blast so far. Did anyone try her Tomb Raider? Worthwhile?

It was, as folks say, very clumsy. It started to take shape around issue 7 or so, but that's far too late… and even then, it just got upgraded from 'a fucking mess' to 'reasonably okay.'

Simone can be great, but around the time of the New 52 (a few months before, really), something happened in her writing and she seemed to lose all ability to moderate drama and action with actual human emotion and sensible pacing. She's finally getting back on track, now that she's off Batgirl, but, yeah, things were

On just a writing level - structure, character, dialogue, pacing, etc… - I'd actually say, yeah, TASM2 is the worst professional movie I've ever seen in my life.

I was never an active commenter, but as I've drifted more and more away from the AVC, the one thing that I could never, ever miss every week were the Buffyverse/Trek reviews. Best commenting groups on the site, and some of the best writing here period.

That makes sense. I see a lot of reviews for kids films that basically boils down to, "Eh, the colors are bright, your dumb kids will probably like it I guess?"

Or the third Schumacher Batman movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I don't think she does. Remember when 'divorce' comes up, and she immediately lets out a little, "Oh, no…"

Sure. We saw how well that worked for TRANSCENDENCE.

It's also already up on Spotify.

Thanks!

Are you… are you a prophet?

Batman Eternal #1 was frustrating and ruined by a juvenile flash-forward, but #2 was downright infuriating. It seems like a series in which presumably smart people are making the stupidest possible creative decisions at every possible opportunity, and I'm a little baffled by that.

WHAT. YES.

Nearly every character has that moment, where they go from being a character to being a human being, and that moment is where you really can't hate them anymore. Only the rare outright villains of the show - Voodoo, Joe McCoy - are never really allowed that moment.

I hated Buddy until the minute I loved him.

They're fairly careful about stating who is what. Street is definitely declared a senior, Smash is definitely declared a junior, Lyla and Riggins are implied seniors but never stated, etc…

I just teared up reading that and I haven't watched the show in a couple years. GODDAMMIT FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BODY.

It's possible to be a nice guy without being a 'Nice Guy'. Just be upfront about what you want and don't think that women owe you something just because you deigned to be mildly polite to them and you're probably good.

He (and Cersei) looked straight-up pleased at the whole show. Really reminds you how lax the Lannisters are about how the world views them.
