Oh, yeah, I'd never claim he was bad at his job, but he's absolutely not for me as a general rule. I'll give Badlands a shot, though.

The Battle of Algiers is one of my all-time favorites, but I saw it on the same day I first saw Melville's Army of Shadows and I think that one might just edge out Algiers as one of my favorite 'occupation' movies. I've never heard of Burn! - I'll definitely check it out, though.
