Yeah it seems to have been a crap shoot with the early R56s.  Some people had great luck and others had timing chain tensioner failures, leaky water pumps and thermostats, and premature oil leaks.  I guess the later ones were supposed to be better?  Glad yours is working out!  What year is it?

Weird.  Between the tiny opening for the shifter and the lack of any shift diagram, it looked like a sequential shifter to me.

I was confused too but mostly because the pictures show the sequential shifter in the car.  I’m assuming that this prototype has the original gearbox and that the production versions will have the H-pattern, but that isn’t explicitly stated anywhere.

Bought my first Miata almost nine years ago, and the only car I can ever realistically see myself replacing it with is another Miata.

Have I driven a car that did 0-60 in under 3 seconds? Yes! It was *checks notes* the current Corvette! The ZR-1 is available with a manual, so why would the new one with ~250 fewer horsepower be “two fast for a stick”?

So we’ve just accepted that the manual Corvette is a thing of the past?  And we’re all cool with that?

Oh yeah 9/3 is where the wheel is supposed to be held, but this wheel is almost encouraging the driver to *not* hold the wheel properly.  That’s the problem.

I’m still completely confused about where the driver’s hands are supposed to go on that wheel.  8 and 4 with thumbs on the spokes?  Above the spokes at 9 and 3?  Madness!
