A commonly held idea in car culture is that “German reliability” is as oxymoronic as a diarrhea-free Chipotle…
Another one I want to love but can’t. Even half of the $9995 asking price seems strong. $10K buys a whole bunch of newer Subie, just sayin’.
I cannot give this enough stars. Jalopnik is the true home of poor automotive design, neglected badge-engineered compromises, duct-tape fixes, soft Corinthian leather, captive imports, and NSU rotary engine swaps into Korean tractors.
Worked at a Chrysler dealer c. 1988-94; Learned about torque steer when a Turbo II LeBaron torque steered so hard I almost went up a curb. Such a comically awful experience.
They are ugly. And the plastic in the interior and under the hood literally dissolved over time. They may have been good at the time, but there is SO much out there now for this money. Like a Ducati 1098 Superbike. But then again, someone did just pay over $100K for a 79 Trans Am at Barrett Jackson.
I’m sorry, I just don’t get the collective boner-rama over these things. They’re ugly, plastic 80's Dodges. Am I missing something? Does the fact that nearly everything else made in that era was utter shit make this a great car?
It's sticking its tongue out!
Yea those rims are horrible. i rather have the stock ones. They scream “I bought this car used and im balling on a budget.”
No one thinks the drivers of Limos are rich.
