It actually would show (to most) that Acura’s are long-lasting and cars that are loved by their owners so much that no matter how much money or fame that they get, they still want to get in that Acura and drive. That’s what sells cars. Not the fact that it’s an old car, but the loyalty shown to the brand.

What makes more of a statement - restoring a POS car for the price of a brand new one (or more) for some schlub off the streets, or a celebrity worth millions choosing of their own free will to drive a much more modest, simple vehicle and basically let them continue to do so?…

Oy! It’s a marketing tool and to prove it, we all watched/read about it. They should give him the other car in the video as well. Just like Ludacris, Acura can afford it. Acura has a solid digital media game. Take a look at their support of Jerry Seinfeld’s series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”.

It’s not nonsense, honestly, it’s heritage marketing. This gets the company exposure, and in a way that ads for the current cars can’t do on its own. I bet it’s also a big morale factor for Honda/Acura’s line workers.

This car is local to me and I saw it at a dyno-day this past Sunday. It put down 377 at the wheels and sounds great!

This is it. I first spotted this car years ago when I was on an M car spree. I decided this was the M car of M cars for connoisseurs. But it was pricy then... and If they are under $15k now I’m in trouble with the lady friend.
