That you design engines makes this comment even more disconcerting. There is no DOHC engine on the market that outputs the same or better amount of torque, HP, mpg, reliability and ease of maintenance in a package that is as compact and lightweight as the LS series. Do I even need mention cost?

I think it’s funny how OHC motors predate OHV motors by few years, but everyone talks about OHV motors like they’re the outdated tech! Simplicity isn’t a flaw, it’s a feature that allows the design to be tougher, last longer and handle more induction with less modification. How is that outdated?

It also comes with a stand-alone engine management system in “standard” guise, which is a rare thing these days. No need to bring the entire wiring loom, various sensors and instrument cluster from the donor car to get it started.

The Modular family is a failure compared to the Gen III/IV SBC in every respect but one - horsepower per liter of displacement. It’s physically larger. It’s far more complex, and more expensive. packaging and weight are super important. That being said, the only reason the LS is so ubiquitous in the aftermarket is because the traditional hot rodders won’t give up their pushrods. It was an easier update for them than say....the Mod Motor.

This one time I drove an F-150 that wouldn’t drive straight either, it was also very wallowy and sketchy over bumps. I now declare that all F-150s are terrible cars.

so again, dude in the C10 uses hockey pucks as body lifts, they dont use drop pitman arms, and they run worn out 15 year old super swamper tires

Just because you don’t like stanced and these people do they should be punished for it?

I’m unfamiliar with this whole “stancing” thing - what’s illegal about it? They can’t impound a car because of bad taste, can they?

I see they also stopped a Lotus riding on custom wheels, but with a stock ride height...so they’re just stopping any car that is, different?

They also ticketed a guy with a stock F40 because his stock exhaust was louder than they liked sooo... they’re probably assholes.

I hate stancing as much as the next guy but, I hate cops targeting modded cars even more. They’re our brother Jalops even if we don’t approve of how they modded their cars. I certainly respect stancers more than the hoard of people on this site who can’t even change their own brake pads.
