demons souls was unknown when it came out and even then you were able to get the asian version which was in english. Bloodborne and dlc and dark souls 2 and dlcs had worldwide releases so did the dark souls 1 dlc only dark souls 1 had a similiar staggered release

Yep most streamers played through the game and are pvping, making new builds, speedruns are happening etc. On twitch the game is passed that everything is new phase, passed the first playthrough marathon hype phase.

The moment i saw how drastically different luna looks i immedately thought that the movie is going to be treated as its own thing despite the story connection to the game. So known actors promoting the movie is not surprising.
