Am I the only one who glanced at the "Plan a Staycation..." title and had to force my brain to not see a mutated form of "PlayStation"?

@superhappyfuntime: Then explain God's Bowling Alley (a.k.a. Florida during hurricane season).

"...In other news, primary Luxottica rival Skarphenhatt unveils plan to place a giant shade between the Earth and the Sun, citing reasons of 'increasing UV radiation danger'. The shade is purported to be able to cut down the brightness of the sun's rays by over 50%."

Ok, so what happened to the vaunted "Just plug in your Google account and it syncs all your emails/contacts/calendar/etc" killer feature? Where do I find that? (I'm trying out Android 1.6)

@Brodie8307: I'm still waiting for a daring architect to design a building that, when complete, still looks like it's under construction towards the top, attached cranes and all.

Anyone know of a way to implement this in Chrome?

DreamWeaver?? *facepalm*

I saved my little brother's life when he was drowning in a swimming pool as a kid. His recollection of the event usually includes something along the lines of, "...and all I can remember was thinking, 'Huh, so this is what underwater looks like!' "

How are soaker hoses different from drip-irrigation?

@Howard Blair: Actually, I find such ads as very useful gauges of a site's... legitimacy? Worthiness? Decency? Can't think of the right word. @jsmuli2: Only the world's favorite place these days - Israel. :p

Before my parents got central AC, we used to get through those hot summer days using the wet t-shirt method. There are a couple of ways to implement this method.

I just returned from military reserves, and the base and surrounding area was absolutely infested with mosquitoes. Even though it was in the desert, there was a creek in the general vicinity that must have been leaving standing water pools along its path.

@Howard Blair: I refuse to use any ad-blocking software, ever since I had a sting of running a community website a number of years ago. The income from the few ads we ran truly kept us running; nobody was getting rich off them, and we even had to do a donation drive every year or so to pick up the slack.

@Howard Blair: Yeah, I confess to having tried to reverse-engineer any number of websites using Firebug. It comes in especially useful in preparing a webpage for print when you only want it to occupy a single page, but all the banner ads and graphics and stuff push things onto 2 or more pages.

@Howard Blair: It does indeed, but it still lacks much of the little things that make Firebug so handy. When live-editing color styles, for example, it doesn't auto-complete color names. The right-click interface is lacking. It also takes a lot longer to initialize than Firebug. Finally, when using the right-click ->
