@Mr_Academic: I can easily spend an entire weekend playing final fantasy and barely progress in the story lines. Countless side quests and sometimes just grinding to level up enough to advance will do it.

Alasdair, You managed to capture in words exactly what I was trying to figure out last night while watching last week's V episode. It was so mind-numbingly boring and bad. I felt anxiety. I felt guilty. I didn't know why. And you explained it! It all makes sense now!
