You can play and enjoy Mass Effect 2 with no prior experience, but a lot of the most interesting dynamics (like anything related to the Geth, for instance) are left entirely unexplained in the sequel. Its nothing a friend or the wiki couldnt fill you in on, but keep that in mind.

Gearbox bought the game and finished up not to impress everyone, but to keep Duke alive and show that its not about a quick cash-in (at least I hope thats not what it was, haha).

Not to mention it had more soul (unintentional pun, sorry!) and less hand-holding than most other games this generation.

But the funny thing is most anyone that might consider themselves a connoisseur of music or video games would disagree with you, as a broader palette and credibility lends itself to appreciating finer things. The Backstreet Boys/Haze exist largely forgotten from any "best of" list while Loveless and Godhand are still

I would disagree with you on Godhand just because I consider its gameplay amazing, but I wholeheartedly agree with you otherwise- Im trying to think of another example and 50 Blood on the Sand comes to mind, a game I bought just to do some drunken co-op with a friend. But even thats mechanically okay, so I guess its

Are we talking about God Hand here? In general I'd agree with you, but if you are calling God Hand's controls/gameplay "bad" then I'd say thats where the line blurs, because I think a great deal of people are willing to put up with the games bad qualities for the stuff it gets right.

Comparing God Hand to Haze is like comparing My Bloody Valentine to the Backstreet Boys.

The important part of this is that hes not saying "Japanese games are bad", hes wondering how to make them relevant to the mainstream again.

No offense, but thats a jaded and incorrect view of the world around you. Final Fantasy 7 was a long time ago, bro.

I love the fact that they still claim none of their staff can actually play God Hand because its "that bad".

"Please....eat meeee....."

Comment of the year, or at least the best of E3 :D

This is cool and all, but didnt they promise much the same thing with the Wii? How many compelling uses of the Wii-mote did we actually get compared to all the things we thought we'd get?

[knowyourmeme.com] is the only one Ive seen used so far, obviously much better off of the site itself

Yeah, as many have said already, back before it was online Halo lans were awesomesauce. Nothing like having everyone playing in the same room on like five different televisions.

Reminds me of this:

Oh wow, so its like Borderlands meets Team Fortress meets (and maybe me just wishing) TimeSplitters?

Speak for yourself? I see what you did there ;)

I wonder what the gameplay will be like?

I really dont want to buy a kinect, but giving it some practical application instead of gimmicky on-rails games is a HUGE plus. Were talking actually changing the future of gaming here, instead of just pretending to.
