Wow, I am so sick of these insipid articles attacking Chris Rock for being a comedian and pretending that Jada Smith is some kind of “victim”.

He knows that the world hates a Black woman with sexual agency
100% of the women claiming it’s a horrific crime to make fun of someone’s physical appearance (Jada’s alopecia) are guilty of making fun of short men’s height. Selective Outrage is the perfect name for his special.
Bottom line: Will Smith went too far! He disgraced himself by violently assaulting another Black man on an international stage! I’m still amazed that some folks can’t deal with that simple brutal fact. You have issues with Rock’s comedy, fine; But he was the victim of an assault. Wtf people?!
“...the world hates a Black woman with sexual agency”
Yup all of that. I don’t think they were required like AVClub and the Onion. They had differing unions than the rest of the Kinjaverse. New hires are probably required. I’m not sure why I stick around on Kinja since I am grey on all but Kotaku and shadowbanned on Jezebel (for going too far in on one of the writers…
Your first question is on point. I don’t think any actual journalists exist at the Root. They let anyone write anything! HA!
I think it was a combination of that, the new owners not wanting to pay what the real writers were getting, and I can’t remember if The Root was included in the requiring writers for certain sites to move to other cities if they wanted to keep their jobs but if so that probably played a role.
I’d say it’s more that the good ones left when they saw the writing on the wall a couple of years back.
They got rid of journalists years ago, now they just let anyone post whatever they want if they think it will bring clicks, no matter how shitty the takes.
I once openly applauded Black Twitter for helping POC catch racists and ensure their just social rewards/punishments.
SiriusXM host Reecie Colbert thought this part of his set was a distraction, writing, “Remember Chris Rock punched down on Jada over her alopecia condition. All the deflecting he is doing bringing up entanglements is gaslighting. He knows that the world hates a Black woman with sexual agency, so he has to make that…
I’m just curious, are there any actual journalists at The Root at this point? Now it makes perfect sense why any decent writer ran screaming from this site. Chris Rock didn’t cross any lines, that is unless you are someone that watched the special LOOKING for a reason to complain.
After so many crackheads on Da Poot praised Cuck Smith for thug on thug violence, will they finally admit they full of shit?
My goodness. Chappelle has fallen from grace because his HS canceled his fundraiser? Try again, The Root.
Chappelle will sell out shows if he decides to appear.
The LGBT community would love to frame Chappelle as fallen in the media but in reality, that’s far from the truth.
Out of all groups, the LGBT community, and…
Chappelle is brave and funny. The woke cancel culture needs to stop. Unfortunate for overly sensitive left, if anything doesn’t align with their view, they want to cancel.
The best way to tell if someone thinks of you as an equal in society is to see if they can make jokes about you.
People who don’t know the difference between male and female are funny as hell. What’s even more funny are those who go along with that idiocy out of fear of being called names. David Chappelle isn’t afraid to stand up and call out this charade. The emperor has no clothes.
*stares at abstract Picasso-esque image for 15 minutes*
He only pointed out the fact that gender identity and biological sex are, despite the opinion of a few outrage addicts on Twitter, not the same. He has nothing to apologize for. Don’t like it? Don’t fucking watch. End of story.
