Dat prose style..
Apparently, South Korea chose to submit Age of Shadows (which I haven't seen but also received a great review here) instead. I think they might have felt The Handmaiden was too risqué and went with a safer choice.
Why is The Handmaiden being ignored? I thought it was one of the best films of this year rivaling Moonlight, La La Land (which it is better than) and it didn't even win Best Foreign film at the Golden Globes.
I should've suggested "A Very Cellular Song" now that I think of it. It would've been fun seeing a band try to attempt that one.
The Hedgehog Song - The Incredible String Band
Respectable Street - XTC
Rock n Roll Suicide - David Bowie
Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards -Billy Bragg
What about the film Dope?
Fuck yeah, The Handmaiden!
The movie wasn't set in a Celtic country either, yet the Ancient One is for some reason a Celtic woman.
Dichen Lachman from Agents of Shield is half-tibetan. They had one right there! And hey, Marvel has a tendency to recast the same actors in different roles (Enver Gjokaj, Alfre Wooddard, Kenneth Choi.. etc) so she could have played the Ancient One.
Judging by your avatar, you're a Bob's Burgers fan? They did a nice little tribute to My Neighbor Totoro in one of their episodes.
Listen to Otis Redding's "Merry Christmas, Baby" or his version of White Christmas.
That makes sense. Also, a lot of walking in that show.
I thought Netflix's Hibana was great too.
At least Morrissey had Wilde on his side.
Well, I've got some bad news..
Would you believe me if I said the actor wore brownface to play the character?
