Even if this isn't a carbon-fiber header, it's just about the sexiest I've ever seen.

Most of the deckhouse is made of composites - they're both much lighter and much stealthier than steel/aluminum.
* Was supposed to have gotten. The railgun isn't anywhere near 'done' so the three Zumwalt Flight I ships are being constructed with two 155mm Advanced Gun Systems. Each AGS is an automated artillery system capable of equalling the firepower of a battery of land-based traditional artillery.
I actually think that this is a prudent move - the idea that some content has to be segregated into a 'blog' is outdated already - the NY Times is merely keeping pace with what it means to be a news organization. We all benefit when we smush the irrelevant stuff down to a few lines, and highlight the best, in-depth,…
The grille on this new Escalade is perfect - they've definitely kept the in-your-face-ness that befits the car of the rich and powerful. Unfortunately, it looks like it was grafted onto a Yukon. The second-gen's boddy cladding was just enough to visually distinguish it from the proletariat's Tahoe.
This tailgate detail is horrific. It looks like it belongs on a Lexus GX.
What I find really interesting is that it looks like we're going to see these evolve - rather than disappear - back towards the wagon end of the spectrum. The 3 Series GT costs the same as its wagon sibling while being larger and having more cargo space.
Fusion. Look at the grille shape.
Being facetious. Referencing GM's really obvious (and bad) rebadging habit of the late-'90s and early 2000s
Put a series of buttons here - Start, P, R, N, D, L running down this arc. Ditch the column shifter. It'll only bankrupt GM again.
They lock the doors. I checked.
I can't wait for my university to spend lots of my tuition dollars on one for our police force, then leave it idling all night - unmanned, lights on, in a construction zone - to scare off drunk freshmen.
The 2015 Mustang looks like it should be a drivable car in Grand Theft Auto V - a game designer's knockoff of a modern muscle car.
Nissan's not getting special iTunes Radio integration - they're getting special content. Nissan's apparently becoming one of the launch ad partners for iTunes Radio. This means they'll be running ads and possibly curating a radio station.
You make a very good point - though I'd argue that GM had it right with the '73-'91 and GMT400 trucks, where the outer styling cues reflected the overall shape. The past two generations have been a particularly blobby cycle, to the detriment of the looks of the trucks.
Props to Opel for showing their racing cars in a state that makes them look like they've raced a day in their lives.
They're so straight. I'm glad that GM has finally decided to allow their cars to be 'true to inner form'. If the truck is essentially a box, don't slather it with round, blobby shapes - it should have lines and details which echo its overall shape.
Photo of the Saab 9-5 for comparison.
The chrome swoosh running under the windows and elbowing up the C-pillar. Saab used to put it on all their cars. (sigh.)
This straight black plastic bumper highlight is the worst design detail on this truck. Forget the lights.
