To the best of my knowledge BMW doesn’t have any SAE certified engines (see SAE certified engines here: https://www.sae.org/certifiedpower/data/)
They publish claimed power numbers but they are just that, manufacturer claims. They are free to underrate their numbers as much as they’d like. It’s only the SAE certified…
The mid-engine doesn’t help much, since it’s still longitudinal. It still has to change direction 90 degrees. The hypoid gear set to do that is where RWD configurations get most of their inefficiency relative to FWD.
Maybe something like that apc the Russian mob dude had in that Vin Diesel movie, Babylon AD. The entire interior was video screens so it looked like you were driving around in a transparent armored vehicle. It was a pretty cool effect.

Another regurgitation of other people’s journalism? C’mon Jalopnik, what has been going on lately? It seems like you guys are doing more of this than your own reporting lately.
5 minutes Turkish.
Especially relevant since up to now, you.had to look over the top of the engine to see the road.
It’s always seemed strange that there’s so little acknowledgement of how GOOD a pushrod LS7 or new LT1 is on the attributes that count: reliability, power, torque, weight and volume.
Your entire position here is a treatise on how you think it’s your right to n lazily stand in people’s way. You definitely lack the self awareness to not be a problem wherever you go.
Normally I take issue with the “you must be fun at parties” line because it relies on the notion that people can’t differentiate between different situations with different social expectations but in this case you’re probably right.
In many places like malls, hotels, airports, etc the staircases are off in a far corner serving as a fire staircase only. How fucking hard is it to stand to the right so that non-lazy people who are using an escalator or moving walkway to get to where they are going faster can walk by?! If you move your ass to the…
Stay to the right and shut the fuck up. It’s not a fucking amusement park ride. Some of us have trains to catch and places to be.
I’m not saying he’s some superhuman genius that can tell the hp limits of a part just by touching it, but he’s probably seen a lot of what does and doesn’t work over his years building cars. It’s not like he’s doing this for the first time is the only point I’m trying to make.
Because it’s not a new part. We’ve been building B58s in BMWs for nearly 4 years already. There are several out there with over 800hp and stock bottom ends.
Yes they do get discolored over time, but it’s still better than a nest of indistinguishable white wires.
That is a small engine for that turbo. This will be a thermally inefficent setup, so the amount of airflow/fuel needed to make 1000 hp will be very high. That means big turbo, and when you combine that with giant plenum/giant intercooler/giant intercooler piping you have massive lag.
Why would they care? The object is the big number on the dyno, not a car you would actually want to drive.
