Last time I looked at a crankshaft and said “looks OK” it turned out that the journals had been machined to -.01" unbeknownst to me (was told the engine had never been opened) Turns out that doesn’t play well with standard connecting rods.

That is a small engine for that turbo. This will be a thermally inefficent setup, so the amount of airflow/fuel needed to make 1000 hp will be very high. That means big turbo, and when you combine that with giant plenum/giant intercooler/giant intercooler piping you have massive lag.

Why would they care? The object is the big number on the dyno, not a car you would actually want to drive.
