See here’s the thing: have you ever had to replace LED headlights? They literally cost an order of magnitude more to replace than halogen headlights. Making them standard equipment on all cars would basically mean that you’d have to total out a ten-year-old car just because the headlights go out.

Yea that’s the main issue preventing me from getting an EV. I don’t want to deal with the hassles of owning a house for a short term but getting a charger installed in a condo requires more hoops than I can jump through. My work only has two spots and a lot more EVs so that’s not an option either.
It’s not the number of chargers, it’s being able to charge while not at home in an amount of time that makes it convenient. 30 minutes is still far too long when it takes me <5 to fill up my gasoline cars.
