I would say a subtle, downmarket but still respectable car is exactly what you’d expect for someone providing services to the upscale.  Same reason a banking associate might park a C- or E-class beside his boss’s S and his client’s AMG, as opposed to showing up in a similarly-priced GT350.

Bingo.  When you live in a Brooklyn high rise, “liking cars” means scheduling a Sunday morning cruise outside the city, so if the thing is impossible to live with and out of commission for weeks on end, that’s just part of the charm, vs. a major disruption to your job and family.

Probably is once you opt for the middle seat refrigerator, trunk massagers, etc.  Sad we spent so much of drivetrain tech improvements on letting “midsizes” outweigh yesterday’s limos...we could all be driving 400hp 35mpg rockets if they’d kept weight in check.

M5 is up to like 4300, which is the wrong side of 4k as far as I’m concerned, but still about 800 pounds less.  I just think if you’re going to shoehorn a 1400 pound battery into something with sports aspirations, you should at least start with the lightest possible car to minimize the impact.

Half my extended family have F-150 and F-250 work trucks, whose beds are constantly full of hunting and camping gear, tools, rifles, and landscaping stuff.  The ones that don’t have those low-profile but secure covers all want them, because they’re a great way to keep your stuff hidden and locked up.

Taycan V for Voltage?  Taycan U for Ultracharged, with Ultra badging?  Taycan L for Lightning edition?  Surely even if we set aside the “cool” letters already in use (R, S, M), we can find a new one for electrics.

Having a 5100+ pound sports car is equally absurd.  So much weight to haul around and change direction.  With a 1400 pound battery, that’s still a 3700 pound car...they should be strapping it to a <2500 pound shell.

I am the “younger generation”.  I cannot remember a time, from school to media to Hollywood to college to corporate HR, that I didn’t have a finger wagging in my face about all the evil stuff I apparently did before I was born (while also feeding half the world).  Nobody wants to live under a permanent guilt trip.

I can’t imagine the unintended consequences of a whole new layer of gig requirements.  And neither can the people who’d write them, which is why it would be a mess of distortions.
