I saw last night's episode after many years of not watching Law & Order. "Polemic" seems almost too weak of a word to describe what was on TV. Maybe "diatribe" or "tirade"? Regardless, it was so way over the top that I couldn't stop watching, only to vow that I will never watch it again.

"Gut feelings" can lead to equally good, if not better, outcomes if sufficient minimal information is available and efficient heuristics are used (often unconsciously). This is the concept of "bounded rationality", which suggests that decision-making based on "some information", as opposed to "no information" and

Estimating the projected earnings that would result from the mouthfeel of cock scratch-ins should be at the top of every CEO to-do list.

It's hard to tell whether or not there's any editing between levels but that indeed was an amazing spectacle. At first I was impressed with the warping from level 1 to level 8 but then the succession of 1UPs started happening. Then the dash through Bowser's castle. It was the most flagrant WTF showboating I've ever

Well played, you inanimate fuckin' object.

Damn, dawg. Inappropes.

The Comedy Network in Canada is now letting "fucks" and other "mature content" go uncensored. It's about time, especially since EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT YOU'RE BLEEPING OUT.

What gives is that this show is not for people who think Schumer's shtick is "being a slut". The high marks are for integrating intelligent, witty feminist perspectives that dissect post-feminist culture and explore female identity into a comedy sketch show. Feminism is the shtick, not being a slut. I'll agree that

You know, having seen The White Stripes play on their final tour, I would argue that Meg was a good drummer. She had a simplistic style and she was certainly not a great drummer but keeping a solid beat and doing call-response dynamics with a showman guitarist for two hours is no easy task. Now her singing on the

Ummm, don't forget Kanye's 3-hour spoken-word album coming later this year. It will be… um… hmm… ahh… you know… mmm…

And on really good days, they swell to the size of small dogs. It ain't bragging if it's true.

All I'm saying is that of all the AMC shows he could have landed, he got stuck with the worst one. He's a good actor, though.

He (unfortunately) got his chance on Low Winter Sun.

The first two sentences were actually the only two sentences in my review of Superman Returns.

This is the Dan Bern equivalent of going down on Madonna too soon.

I love this track. I guess it is Meg's drumming - way to loud, and draggy.

…for a dollar!

Love this song, too, but I got a thing for 2:45AM and Between the Bars. The layered analogies in the latter (i.e., between the bars = writing music, playing shows, drugs) are heartbreaking. Plus, the use of Needle in the Hay in Royal Tenenbaums is masterful.

Failed for the missed opportunity to reference "Schraderbrau" but bonus points for using umlauts.

It's on par with pretty much every premium cable series. I'd say 6-8 is brunch, 10 includes a pitcher of draft, which is satisfying as long as the show doesn't taste like Low Winter Sun.
