I will stick with what I know.
Nissans with the VQ35DE and a 5sp auto. That will get you an Altima, some Maximas, and maybe an Xterra. Some will have a 5 or 6 speed manual.
They are reliable, no matter how much people hate the interior kit. At 5k, you are before a lot of the terrible ICE, so you can install your own

If COVID-19 has taught me anything, it’s that we’re not probably fucked, we’re proper fucked.

The most I’ve ever safely put in the bed where I can still see out was 35 in a 6.5 foot bed.

More useful as a buttplug.

We have a Pacifica Hybrid.  Of the 12,000 miles we’ve put on it, 9,000 have been all electric.  It’s amazingly efficient for our use case.

This is true for most people. Especially if you could drive to work, plug in, drive home, plug in, rinse, repeat.

I couldn’t tell you the last time I saw a Chevy Celebrity in the flesh. My parents owned a 6000, so at least I had some seat time in a A-Body.

I love the plug ins that get 20 or 30 miles on electric only mode.

Meh...

There really is a logic to allowing a larger vehicle to get worse mpg... I mean, none of us would expect a 15 passenger Transit to get the same mpg as a Prius C.

But a better approach than CAFE would just be to tax the living daylight out of gas and use the revenue to fix roads and provide a refundable tax credit

As a WI resident, what is this magic you speak of?  It seems like everything around here manages to rot no matter what you do.

Sorry for being sincere in the Jalopnik comments, but my love of the 1st gen Prelude is tangled in family history and a father who knew how to manage aerospace projects but cratered when it came to being a dad or a decent husband.

There is no chip shortage. This line of BS was created because so many people have shifted to online grocery shopping, and have zero concept of how well shelves are stocked. I mean, if you’re not going into Publix on a regular basis, you have to go with what you hear from others. However, for those of us who continue

Why does the blue Camry in the top pic. have a bowtie?

Some used car prices have actually dropped lately. This morning I was shocked to find that manual 987 Boxsters and non-turbo 996 911s seem to be settling back to where they should be vs. the ridiculous prices they were listing for a few months ago.

That and most of the people who do buy news cars didn’t lose their jobs and suddenly had extra cash from not taking vacations or going out to eat.

I have no fucking idea how that POS sold 60k vehicles last year, outside of fleet sales. Its outdone by anything on the market, doesnt get shit for gas mileage for its size, and costs way too much for a penalty box

So is the Dodge Journey actually dead? I thought it died around 2005, but found out they still had 2020s. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a 2022 Journey out there. Same with the Voyager, which I think was last redesigned in the 90s.

It’s not that it’s old or small. It’s that it is small, uncomfortable, and somehow gets worse gas mileage than the larger Escape.

Why THIS car at all, Mercedes?

I think ordering new cars direct from dealers would be more popular if you were guaranteed the current incentives at time of purchase. I may be wrong, but I thought you only get incentives at time of pick up (or varies by brand?), which can obviously change between order and delivery. That would be the ideal use of
