Not sure where you’re going with this, but that’s actually an issue. You should be moving to the employer that can best utilize your talents, not where the healthcare keeps you from dying.

No one should have to pay for healthcare.

It’s funny, because while a lot of great things keep me at my job, my healthcare is not one of them. High deductible plans are no fun, especially when you have kids who tend to get sick/hurt often.

To be clear I think our healthcare system sucks and I support single payer healthcare. I’m just pointing out that “the man’s” healthcare is actually far worse than our unionized workforce. 

I am generally puzzled by this, can you help me understand?

the one i linked is pretty tired and tested, but i don’t have one because i don’t actually have and ign off loads besides my fridge which already has an effective low voltage cut.

that’s what the low voltage cutoff is for. it will disconnect your main battery when it drops below a voltage that will leave you stranded. safer than some dual battery setups, especially manual or if you’ve accidentally left them linked

Sounds like a few of your tips could be saved by simply installing a battery hot 12v outlet with a heavier gauge wire and fuse.
