What happens to all the UAW jobs when the manufacturers can’t afford to pay for the higher employee costs and just stop building cars (parts) in union plants?

I was there last week as well. I grew up around the KSC area. My grandfather worked for NASA. My parents still live there. Everytime I go look at the space hardware, I’m in awe. If you have the chance, go to Huntsville, AL as well.

Nice Prelude, priced a bit high and not actually 100% stock. I voted CP, but have no idea what the vote is.

A colleague of mine has a newish (probably 12 year old) Caddy that came with 17's. Last winter he put snows on that set of wheels and picked up some 20's with tires from a much newer car off CL. This spring, I rode in the car with the newer wheels and the whole Caddy vibe was gone. Give us back our sidewalls!

It’s not like the US didn't have the little Tiguan for a while.

Don’t worry, I'm sure NYC will make it take forever by ensuring it stops where nobody needs it and it breaks down regularly.

This is like a tax for all foreigners living abroad.

My son needed the seat reclined some to not have his head on the roof of the Fit, or slouch down in the seat. If he sat properly upright, he couldn’t pivot forward to even touch the dash without his head getting into the headliner. I know airbags deploy a long way out, but his chin was probably 28" from that airbag.

At this point, the people’s car only makes 2 SUVs. Toyota makes what 6? Chevy makes 6 or so. Ford is all about the *UVs.

There’s one out there, on jack stands with the front end in “service position”.

My son is 6'3" 165 and wouldn’t fit a ‘17 Fit. His clutch knee was up in the dash and head just brushing the headliner. Here’s my dilemma, any front impact and his head hits the roof well before the airbag and that just won't work.

I tried to buy my 6'4" son a Fit last year. Nice little 2 year old manual transmission one. Seat all the way back, his left knee was up in the dash steering wheel area when the clutch was at the top of the throw. His hair was brushing the headliner as well. Had to go all the way up to an Accord for a car to fit him.

I also work in this market and it annoys me when SAE fasteners are measured for length in MM.

Gotta have something for the US Americans to drool over because we can't have it. Then when 25 years goes by, we can import it legally.

VW must have realized that flipping the Tiguan to 3 row CUV left a hole in the lineup. Not filling that hole with a Tarek would be a flop.

If the NHTSA and the IIHS won't crash the Jeep JLs, leave it to Union Pacific!

Neutral: the 6th gen AE86 is the most Jalop answer (RWD, shooting brake or hatch, manual transmission, flip up headlights, etc). I see it. I briefly had an 87 Corolla.

So will the Tarek be the size of the OG Tiguan?

Yeah, isn't the C-HR in that market?

Valid point. In my situation, the said Crown Vic is the 6 seat model with 2 teal velour benches and a column shifter. Of course, the car lives in a Florida garage and has totally managed 2700 miles per year. It's the family road trip car when my grandmother goes anywhere.
