It dawned on me just now that I've actually read this story. I found it pretty mediocre, but it did make me nostalgic for the heavy-handedness you often see in this type of sci-fi Gedankenexperiment story. You can read it for yourselves here.

Weird - the original voice over for the Skyrim trailer was done by Max von Sydow, who also voiced the character of Esbern. He speaks German, so it's odd that they didn't ask him to re-dub his scenes... unless maybe it was just too much money.
