I just finished reading this to my 7 year old. She loved it.
Totally my favorite episode. The only thing hat could have made it better would be if they'd gotten Bootsy's voice right.

I used to work for a major IT consulting firm that insisted that for one of my internal accounts, I use an 8 character password. Not in the sense of "more than seven characters" - I mean, specifically eight, not nine or ten. I'm still scratching my head over it.
I don't know how the smoke point of an oil relates to its use for cast iron seasoning, but: a quick search online led me to this page, which notes the smoke temperatures of various oils. Refined canola oil's smoke temperature is 400 F, and extra virgin olive oil is 320. Flax oil is a rock bottom 225.
Regarding "Aliens vs. Wizards", this reminds me a bit of Under the Mountain, a classic Nickelodeon series that aired as part of their "The Third Eye".
Perfect timing - we just got a new entertainment center, and I'm going to be moving our stuff into it over the next couple of days. Thanks, LH!

I had no idea he taught at Cornell!
"Trying to get into your car the morning after a snowstorm only to find the doors are frozen shut is a devastating feeling."
Until you find out that it was something in their water supply.
I've read it, although I haven't yet seen the film. I am very excited: I absolutely could not put the book down. It reminded me of the output of some of the most off-the-wall roleplaying games I played with friends back in college.
