That is an awesome line. Although I haven't read the source novel, it strikes me as being very Neil Gaiman-y - he's fond of having people speaking from authority and saying "because that's the way it is," or words to that effect.

That wizard is just a crazy old man.

I am embarrassed that I thought this was a reference to Photoshop. I wasn't familiar with Belew's solo stuff back then. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…

I need for you to be reasonable.

I don't know - certainly none of it touches the crazy dadaist stuff from Soul Coughing's heyday, and there's a lot of annoying stuff on his solo albums. But it seems to me like every time he writes about drug addiction, it comes out at least very good. "Sunken Eyed Girl" is pretty good, and "Wednesday" is great.

You're a very silly man, and I'm not going to interview you.

I was prepared to dislike this right off the bat, and honestly the first episode or two didn't do that much for me. But the series has grown on me very quickly. Like a fungus, perhaps.
