I dunno, it does feel a little more contemptuous than his usual Stamps.com (et cetera) voice.

I just thought of it in writing this post and am really glad that other people like it as much as I do.
I think the issue is the One, not with you.
It was one of the most painful hours of transcription I've ever done, up there when I had to do three hours of audio from a group of professors talking about "mindfulness" and they were all the most insufferable pseuddhists I'd ever heard.
I do audio transcription, and I was going through a presentation by Richard Rodriguez. At one point, one of his evidences that society was falling apart without religion was, "Millions of young men are playing video games, and no one understands why." Which is just about the funniest, most worried old man way to…
Yeah, and the special effects looked just odd. Can't disagree with you there, although I'm not as huge of a fan of Fourvel as some people are.
Really? Huh, I missed that part (and I'm replaying it right now). That would make it more clever than I gave it credit for.
I totally agree with you, but as much as I love the AV Club, the commentariat here doesn't always do well with anything that would come out of a WGS department.
There's no satire of that part, though. There's some attempt at satire about how the player changes as he commits violence, unlike in other games, but the part of it where the plot is "white person gets involved in African culture and is corrupted by their violent nature" is not presented as in any way satirical.
Did you go to the other island? Because if you suffer through more missions, you can get there!
I dunno - I can see an attempt to make something satirical in there, about how Jason goes from being a scared college kid to this violent murderer - there are conversations every time you go back to your friends about it. I think that's what he was thinking about when he talked about satire, it supposedly parodying…
From the creators' interviews afterwards, I'm almost positive he thought he was being clever and satirical and really saying something with all of the "violence is addictive" or whatever nonsense.
We actually do, too. I always thought that was spectacular, that they went with the whitest popular name.
How's this for frustrating: Rockford, IL, the city I grew up in, has a large Mexican population and plenty of legit Mexican restaurants, but according to a city-wide poll by our local newspaper, the best Mexican restaurant is… Taco Bell.
FALSE ALARM
ATTENTION ATTENTION
I love The Critic, but I would agree he's the least funny part of that episode.
Since BS2 was made by a different group, I imagine that's the one that's probably non-canon.
When he appeared in Jodorowsky's Dune and he opened his mouth, I was shocked and discomfited to hear any other voice come out of it.
Every time I'm in line for ASSCAT I spent an hour staring at the Scientology Celebrity Center.
