Here's a website I stumbled upon talking about bees as a symbol for the church:

I'm working on a journal article about how atonal, experimental classical music sort of got smuggled into film soundtracks through horror music, and how what techniques they specifically used to sort of de-fang it, and during that whole amazing scene I was just thinking, Well, shit, now I have to rewrite everything.

Yeah, but in the Walkthrough Fuller kept talking about how episode 3 will only really make sense after episode 5.

Hopefully this rumored Episode 5 will make it worth it.

I really didn't realize how virulent the racism against Roma is until I poked around the worse parts of Reddit for a while.

They did Manos just recently, and I think they've done more. The Manos one was… fine.

Why'd they lose points for that? Rifftrax has redone several MST3K movies.

I sorta agree with @avclub-41e23e24ee2670c4128cd7e5e5ee42ab:disqus - I actually just started that one the other day and, I dunno, the actual flaws of that movie are so impossibly glaring that any jokes seemed to end up being obvious or just being pop culture references.

OK, never mind sleep, I'm watching this tonight.

I haven't gotten around to seeing The Boss of It All - I don't know why, it's the only von Trier I haven't seen - but I feel like I heard something about the camera angles being determined by a computer. Is that actually true?

I think the argument that Dogme 95 was all just a way to get anyone to pay attention to obscure Danish filmmakers is pretty convincing. I still love the films, though.

The one I'd enthusiastically recommend as being up there with the best episodes of the show is the Paranormal Activity one.

The shorts are great. The Twilight riffs aren't nearly as funny to me as they seem to be to other fans.

It's also sort of an example of it not always working out great; I've listened to more Rifftrax than I should have and I can count the ones I thought were even decent on one hand.

Totally agree with you.

Two questions: Why is Whitman's grave in Springfield, and why is it covered with ivy? Seems like people would want to visit.

I do transcriptions, and I once had to do some presentations/sermons from a conference basically about how to get more money to your church. It was fascinating and terrifying. I specifically remember one patrician saying "There is more money in your church than you can possibly imagine. There is more money in America

Yeah, it makes sense that Bart wouldn't understand how to actually write a play.

Even before the Lang movie there's the Johann Strauss II piece You Only Live Once!, which in turn is quote from a Goethe play (I forget which).

I love that episode, but it does always bug me in a really stupid way that I should get over that it's supposed to be a play, but when Bart reads it it's in prose.
