I know multiple people who worked on that episode in vfx. that's exactly what I'm referencing when I say they aren't being given credit publicly. For the record, I don't know anyone who has complained about it either, but I find it a little shitty. It was filmed as one take (multiple times), and you're seeing a

anyone who actually thinks the true detective shot was "one unbroken steadicam shot" clearly doesn't work in film or have any experience with vfx. filmed in one shot multiple times, sure... but it's def not one take that you saw on HBO. multiple multiple multiple stitches to make one "seamless" shot. a helluva shot

not a reasonable fix as it relies on the sender (who likely doesn't know there's anything wrong in the first place) changing your contact info (which doesn't work anyway if they have an existing convo with you over imessage fyi).

I swear to god I'm not a conspiracy theorist generally, but I do believe this to be purposeful on Apple's part. Or maybe a "happy accident" in further locking us all into iDevices and iServices. Oh, you want text messages to actually work? Better come back to OUR products. Basically they make normal messaging
