I'm curious what methods they are using. I've seen some impressive stuff using b-splines and fractals, but I couldn't find any documentation on the sourceforge page.

What does this do to sound quality? How does it work? Does the line-in hardware pass straight to the line-out, or is the audio processed by the cpu and then output through the sound card?

@badsandwich: seriously! they've been messing around with performance and functionality instead of focusing on the important stuff.

I've been dropping about a pound a week by making one simple change: eating slower. I was the type of person that would wolf down a meal like a stray dog.

Zonescreen [www.zoneos.com] is a free alternative that also works with windows mobile. It uses vnc, so you can, in theory, use a non-windows machine as a second monitor.

What about that Zune subscription service? Surely it uses DRM, and why shouldn't it? The real atrocity there is that you might be seen in public using a Zune.

I think the attitude is that if you can wait a week, order it online.

I wonder if they can actually find out if you're in college. Do they ask the schools they partner with for proof?

if you need to dispose of them while they're still alive you can stick the trap in the fridge for a couple minutes. They'll go into a hibernation mode and become really docile.

The rotating bits help a lot, but Johnny Lee's steadycam [steadycam.org] also gets the job done. It basically just uses a counterweight below to keep things stable. It is similar to this, but without the moving parts.

this would make a great carry-on for those stuffy delays on the runway. plus, i hear you feel really cold after you get shot in the chest.

but dropping the c bomb will cause you nothing but pain.

...waiting for someone to say that mac users should come out of the closet.

@leetgeek: you really think that thing would be any better than a remote that actually fits in your hands and has buttons? I'll take the cheaper version any day, even if they cost the same.

It's pretty arbitrary, but I find it a turn-on if a girl has bad handwriting. I guess I see them as not being superficial.

@rdm: that's not so bad. In a month it'll be 90 at night.

this doesn't work too well with cricket style lighters, and they get chewed up a lot more.

Macs usually do a substantial overhaul every 18 months and upgrades in between. The overhauls usually have problems, big problems. The upgrades are usually rock solid.
