My concern with using non-free/closed-source is that if I lose the program, or the company goes under, and I can't activate it down the road, I can't access the files from the software.

Almost everything in this article contradicts what my trainer tells me. He is a level three trainer that is certified in nutrition from the cooper center. I wonder if his facts are outdated, or maybe he is just used to training higher-level athletes.
