Unfortunately, that always seems to be the main issue with anime turned movies. They tend to suck. Or people are worried they’re going to super suck, a la Akira.

That is a good point. Watchmen the movie is nearly a carbon copy of the comic yet it is completely lifeless, and gory to a point of actual disgust. The comic of course never felt that way, especially the implied violence.

I haven’t been to the theatres yet this year, so so far I’ve missed Logan and Kong; both movies I want to see more than this. But why is it really, REALLY a problem that a studio wanted to cast one of the biggest movie stars on the planet to jump start a franchise especially when the original anime is hyper ambiguous…
