I understand that, but Weaver's daughter made a cameo in the illusion, and she definitely isn't a big part of Tom's past, and neither is Anthony. Anthony's connection to the illusion is that he was tasked with finding the mole; Peralta's connection is her proximity to the mole (though I don't know that Tom ever

As @avclub-92f0aaf782f117403757301fbdccb3ae:disqus said, had there been more dead people in the illusion, Dai's scene would have been more poignant. At least that way it would be clear that Tom is haunted by the costs of the war. Carrying the ghosts of former 2nd Mass members would have given purpose to Dai's cameo.

This interview says Cochise had a CGI face early on, but was then outfitted with practical makeup (prosthetics?) in later eps. That article also included this tidbit: "… his home planet — like Earth it was invaded by aliens …". That's a detail that has never been clearly stated in the show itself: Cochise gave the

It airs on Friday nights in the U.S., and it airs on Sunday nights in Canada. I think the U.S. is 2 eps behind the U.K., and the U.K. is 2 eps behind Canada. If that's right, then episodes 7 (U.S.), 9 (U.K.), and 11 (CA) are up for discussion this morning.

Well, according to Syfy's website, the latest episode is Second Degree … but we were already discussing that last week. I think this is partly why AVClub couldn't get enough clicks for a weekly review of the show: the fan base is way too fragmented due to the different worldwide scheduling of the series. Can't tell

I thought this episode might be good because Karen showed up. Hilariously, the episode continued this show's trend of acknowledging its own awfulness via dialog: "The Overlords have lost confidence in my methods." Yep, that pretty much encapsulates my opinion of Karen's tenure as Overlord, and this episode doesn't

This episode was yet another bunch of nothing. They spent a ton of time on Tom's hallucinations under Karen's handling, and she still got nothing out of it. They spent a ton of time yacking about the mole in Charleston, and they still got nothing out of it.

Were you perhaps leaning towards a C+ instead?

No, the reviews for this season started with "Vohm" because that's what the reviewer heard at the time. The official name is "Volm", as noted by the producers. It's just never been corrected on this site, so you'll just have to look past the misspelling in the reviews and comments on here.

@avclub-8513653fa414d2ef44d8aa46af896e42:disqus Hah, yes, I do agree that he's angling for camera time. It's unfortunate because I'm actually very supportive of his cause. However, he's clearly just parroting some buzzwords and catchphrases without comprehending the implications of his process.

"Why do I do this to myself?"

I think he's showboating. Why else would he involve himself in a production whose very purpose is to consume electricity just for the spectacle? TV production consumes huge amounts of power, and uses a lot of labor with non-renewable/-sustainable resources, with the ultimate intent of convincing numerous households to

I think Timothy's problem is that his focus on sustainability is only about what he does to the world, without considering how he fits in the world. It's fine that he, by himself, works without electricity and works with renewable resources. However, if he then intends to work in a mass-production type of industry,

When the twins held Derek's arms up, and Kali raised Boyd over Derek, shouldn't Derek have clenched his fists to prevent his claws from stabbing into Boyd? Why did Derek keep his fingers extended like that? The fight choreography of that scene was really crappy.

When did everyone realize Derek's alive? Last episode was the motel episode, which was an extension of that school trip where Scott was like, "I can't believe Derek's dead." Then this episode happens and Isaac, Boyd and Kora are in Derek's cave like nothing happened.

Yes, I'm of the impression that Lucas is hallucinating due to an embedded program. I think it has to do with whatever it was Curtis and Travis discussed in Curtis's jail cell. Perhaps Curtis and Kagame (and maybe others) had their engrams digitized and uploaded into Lucas Ingram without his knowledge.

I'm surprised they got rid of Gardiner. I actually thought they were building him up towards a more significant arc. Looking back at his storyline, it seems in retrospect that he was inserted into the show just to provide some tension and suspense.

I don't understand the shot between Curtis Chen's knuckles. It revealed that he had the Freelancer tattoos in between his fingers. Does that mean that he somehow started that movement? Or maybe he was a member of a group that eventually became the Freelancers?

Yes, I was under the impression that there was a mind-meld between Karen and the Overlord who was shot by Tom. The only reason I can see the Espheni allowing Karen to rise to Overlord status is if she's been modified enough to actually function as an Overlord. It's unfortunate that the show has decided to completely
