I think people are remembering things like the notion that beating the last boss would end Link’s life along with everyone else’s, that weird ghost you meet so you can take him home and then to his grave, and stuff like that.

That really sucks man. I don’t want to be callous, but you had best update your resume and start looking now. Good luck man. Try not to get caught up in contract work.

Indeed, you will still need to use bad jobs as your stepping stones to a good one.

I’m sorry about that. I recognize the necessity of it, I just hate that people have bought into the idea of it. It’s basically rich people telling us that they can’t afford to pay enough for you to have a decent quality of life.

It’s about damn time. Don’t work for people who pay so little that you need a second job, work for people who pay enough that the job is all you need. And give the first group of people the finger on the way out.

Yeah, that was my thought as well.

I switched back to firefox a few years ago when Chrome started taxing the crap out of my computer’s resources and making it run slowly. I have an extension for firefox called Nightmode Pro that runs very well with most things though, and has a whitelist for sites I don’t wish for it to run on.

My wife and I always tell each other and other people if we’re with a group not to let their food get cold. It just seems better than having some stupid precedent where you have to let your food get cold while I wait for my hot food to come.

I’m realizing how dramatic my comment probably came off- and now I’m a little embarrassed. Removing my foot from my mouth as I type...

I don’t disrespect the line of work, I disrespect people who can’t figure out whether to ask customers if they want to have cream with their coffee, and get mad about a customer asking for cream after the coffee is brought to them. I’d have the same lack respect for people getting mad about customers asking ketchup

Seems fair to me, but then again I’m taking the hardline stance of “it’s all fair game” in this discussion, you don’t need to feel bad about making sure you have a good experience when you’re the one spending money.

I think you need a new job if you are still serving food if that’s the attitude you bring to it.

I don’t know about that. If I’m ordering eggs benedict and it comes out with a completely hard yolk then I think you have failed at making acceptable eggs benedict. I probably won’t have time to send them back. but if I did I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask for something to be cooked correctly.

I would argue that, so long as you are asking nicely, there’s nothing you can’t send back. You’re there spending money, and if your server wants you to come back, it’s in their best interest to make sure you get things that you enjoy.

The difference between tipping on pre-tax vs. post-tax totals is hardly anything. Teenie. Miniscule. Drop in the bucket. Smaller than my ex’s… heart. I can’t say which is more common because I can’t tell whether a table meant to tip 18 percent post-tax or 19 percent pre-tax—frankly, I don’t have time for that kind of

I spent a lot of hours on the original Tony Hawk on the N64. I can’t imagine trying to play that game without physical buttons. I don’t like most games without a physical controller though so I rarely actually play games on my phone.

I like Burmans, the hot sauce for people who don’t like too much spice, but still want a little. Works nicely with over easy eggs on toast, burritos, and whatever else you want to add an element of spice to without overwhelming the other flavors.

Over-easy eggs, fried ham on a cast-iron skillet, cheese sauce made with milk, flour, and cheddar cheese, on toast with hot sauce. Kinda my own creation.

So three years in exchange for something permanent? How about something permanent being offered in exchange for the big dumb permanent wall?

This person should just do the opposite and not tip. If we all stood in solidarity on this restaurants would end up being forced to pay fair wages to their employees.
