I’ve always known that lack of lubrication can cause a shaft to suffer from friction but didn’t think that friction would lead to a fracture. Always assumed it would lead to a rug burn type of situation.

This isn’t really a tragic situation, but I would be willing to send to each party involved some Dead Flowers if it offers them any solace.

Gee, I wonder where someone would get the idea to make up a story that would be convincingly undermined by video evidence. Of course the police sniffed this out quickly, they have so much personal experience lying to the public about an incident and then being flatly contradicted by later video evidence.
