No of course not. Just because one cop is a racist, trigger happy dick doesn’t mean all cops are. It’s not right to be racist against blacks just as it’s not right to believe all cops are inherently evil.

I think if BLM clearly outlined what they’re trying to do and then actually sticking to it, I would support them. Frankly, they’ve made everyone be suspicious of all police now, which in of itself is discriminatory, and I find that hypocritical.
True, but AA males ages 12-24 make up less than 3% of the US population yet account for almost 38% of all violent crime...don’t you think police would obviously target that sector more aggressively?
As a white guy, the only racism I’ve probably experienced is on the basketball court with strangers. I’m not great, but I’m OK. I usually get one chance and if I fuck it up, I never get the ball again. I could be open for the corner three and my hands are up, and they’re like, “don’t shoot”.
Yea I think it’s okay to call anyone animals if they’re burning stuff down and destroying property. Again, maybe Clevenger is racist, I have no idea, but I’m not 100% sure that he was calling the protesters animals because they’re black, or because they’re destroying property. I’m totally fine with calling anyone…
I dunno why you’re being so mean about this. It seems like the more prudent reaction by the angry mob in these instances is to wait X amount of months to see all the evidence before burning stuff down, no? Again, if I was a BLM protester, I would be greatly affected by learning “hands up, don’t shoot” never happened,…
That’s a fair opinion, and I would imagine that opinion is largely affected by personal experience. To me, they’ve always been fine, even the dicks, who I largely just comply with until I’m free to go. As I’ve gotten older though, I’ve become friends with a lot of cops, so I don’t discriminate against all cops just…
Yeah, kinda like the diagram for the people that support Kaepernck’s right to speak his mind and are glad Clevenger lost his job.
Honestly, I think it’s lame he got suspended for that. BLM is kinda sketchy to me. I get why you guys are angry about what this dude tweeted, but he’s kind of right, no? That hands up, don’t shoot thing in Ferguson never happened for example. He’s kinda calling all that stuff out, albeit in a totally tactless way.…
Well, I know it hit a lot of people that way, but it didn’t strike me so. I think discounting what they did (as in the Jez piece) is counter productive because I think they are trying to do something serious as a team, which is, to my mind, really powerful. Maybe they haven’t found it yet, and maybe they won’t, but I…
No I disagree. That Jez article was stupid meaningless carping that accomplished nothing and missed the point. The Seahawks locker room has clearly been talking about this extensively and in depth and their approach is both more thoughtful and more useful than anything Jez had to say on the subject.

Right off the bat this morning were on this shit again?
Holy shit. I really respect this woman for standing up to him like that.
Yeah, that’s always been the advice of the greats that have actually led social change. Gandhi and MLK always advised burn down that shit... that you actually paid for with money taken out of your check each week... cause, uh, that accomplishes... a lot.
The disrespect many people had for him always amused me, in a depressing sort of way. Yes, he trash talks...because it’s part of the game as he understands it. And he’s brash and cocky as hell on the field, which people interpret as “thug”. But I don’t know of many thugs that earn a place in Stanford, and If you…
So civilians are injuring/killing other civilians. This is supposed to improve relations between police and the community?
That she looked “terrified” or “intimidated” was complete bullshit, too. I don’t know if that’s what she was going for in the moment, but only someone who had already decided what angle they were taking on that interview before it even ended could have read her face as anything other than “ooh, that’s a little louder…
Erin Andrews totally played that up. She could have had a sense of humor about it, the way pretty much any other sideline reporter in the league would have. Howard Cosell took a world of shit from Muhammad Ali, and just laughed every time. Andrews is a former supermodel who takes herself too seriously.
I have a ton of respect for Sherman. After that whole talking trash after the game affair, where everyone said he was a thug and a bad role model, I looked him up to see what he’s about. The guy is a straight up excellent role model. I’d be overjoyed if my kid looked up to him.
