When I initially responded to you, I suppose I didn’t assume that you are a functioning adult. You were expressing sadness over losing a childhood idol. I guess I was chastising you by saying “don’t make this about you” and “fuck your childhood idols - grow up.”…
I don’t have a narcissistic need to look up to anyone, but I can certainly admire and champion people who do good work and continually put service before personal gain - though rare, those folks do exist. I wasn’t claiming any high ground, moral or otherwise, just offering a suggestion.
It was just a suggestion. You said you’re sad now because you liked him then. I also loved the Cosby Show; am I “sad” that Dr. Huxtable turned out to be a monster?
