Honestly, there are movies that simply cannot be made any better with a modern reboot. Easy Rider is one of them, for the reasons stated in the article. It’s of a specific time and place. Recasting a film set in 1969 to the 2020s seriously misses the point.

Bullitt was based on a pulp detective novel. The story isn’t terrible, but there really isn’t much in it that distinguishes it from any other generic detective story in the ‘60s. Bullitt’s defining attributes are McQueen and the chase scene.
Ford v Ferrari was the movie McQueen wished Le Mans could have been.
If you enjoy cinematic effects created before CGI was even a twinkle in George Lucas’ eye, it’s Hitchcock every day of the week and twice on Sunday. All of the effects in Hitchcock’s films were practical effects, done with props or utilizing lighting, angles and lens work.
Indeed. Bullitt was a Steve McQueen showcase—the story didn’t really matter all that much.
It’s definitely a case of the sequel being better than the original, but then the bar was pretty low.
