I don’t think I had ever watched this before and am surprised by how obviously that dress just crumpled up. I know fabrics are available now that weren’t then, but that was a factor for me determining my dress - I wanted big but definitely not wrinkled!

I do have this concern about how many horrifying memes we would see about “oppression Olympics” or something, since she is a disabled, non-white woman. I mean, I think it is great, I just am already exhausted from thinking about how terrible it could be.

Interesting comparison! I agree - Bauer’s type of journalism is fascinating and important, but I think there is value in non-white journalists covering these issues as well. Kamau asked questions and had responses to Spencer that I think came directly from his experience as a black man and was able to really highlight…

I caught part of the Kamua Bell/Richard Spencer interview on NPR last night, replayed during a special segment, and while I was annoyed that he was getting air time he also sounded spectacularly, unbelievably stupid. I mean, it shouldn’t surprise me, but I expected more “awful person” than “too stupid for words.”

I am absurdly tall and have long femurs, and have just accepted the possibility of everyone seeing my snatch. As long as I’m not at work I don’t even care anymore.

I occasionally see one that is ok but I still don’t like them enough to deal with the bra situation. The ones completely without straps are insane and would make me (broad shoulders, big tits) look like an enormous endtable at someone’s grandma’s house.

I don’t have time or energy to curate perfect outfits for every day, and a nice wash and wear polyester shirt can seriously make a business trip. I’m not here for this hate.

Thank you! That was not a bad look! There are WAY WORSE. I still occasionally rock a blazer, and if a cami looks good that is what I wear.

As an average-size lady I also wear this combo a lot. I thought that was still acceptable! I’m in Austin so a reasonable work outfit is jeans and a not-slobby top. I have several “bold print” blouses that I like a lot! Ugh.

Austin has been doing a pretty good job lately of fighting back when the state tries to do dumb shit. It’s not my favorite use of tax dollars, but I do appreciate that the city will say “no, we made that decision, you believe in limited state control, stop trying to make us do things.”
