I would say the feeling goes both ways. White people see an innocent kid who was racialized by the bigotry of his roomate and friends making him into a White racist, ala Dylan Roof. Actually, Higher Learning predicted Dylan Roof.

Nobody was disgusted by her dance provocativity. They were shocked at what a flabby ass and what bad dancing she had. It was just nasty.
