Its not just the surface, its the fact that theyve reinvented their OS (and then refined it), been bold enough to kill off the platform of windows phone 7 and moved to 8, most of the marketing is good now, good purchases (e.g. acompli), and are now finally bringing good products to market.

Think youre right - Wacom take their time over everything! I tried the Pro 3 close to when it came out so maybe theyve ironed out the issues by now.
I dont think anything digital currently touches drafting markers/paper - even on my Wacom Intuos it occasionally doesnt point where I want it to (and they have very high precision).
