The commentary for team figure skating wasn't done live. I watched parts of it when it aired live in the morning, and the commentary was totally different. The evening commentary was less technical and more about narrative, it felt like. Easier to do when you know the outcome.
Perhaps this is a stretch, but was Cheryl referencing The House of Dies Drear when talking about her uncle dressing up like a ghost in the tunnels?

I went to IMDB to make sure that I wasn't dreaming it, and the top review there says "Worth watching for the hair and wardrobe" so make of that what you will. I do remember they didn't make much of an effort to age-down Wendie Malick so both of them appeared to be ageless the whole time.
